Although the track of "low-altitude economy" is becoming more and more crowded, flying cars are still facing the challenges of technology, market and rules in order to fly into thousands of households.

First of all, from the technical level, the design and manufacture of flying vehicles are very difficult, and it is necessary to break through many technical difficulties, such as car body platform, low-altitude intelligent driving, power propulsion and so on. Among them, in the most critical power technology, the new energy system capability and power density currently used in new energy vehicles can not meet the requirements of flying vehicles, resulting in low load and short flight range of flying vehicles, and it is difficult to fully meet the requirements.

In addition, in order to ensure safety and controllability, flying vehicles must be fully self-driving if they want to be applied to the public on a large scale, which puts forward higher requirements for the intelligent driving technology of flying vehicles, and its application scene will be limited.

Secondly, from the market level, there is still a lot of room for improvement in the current market demand and acceptance of flying cars. On the one hand, the price and cost of flying cars are higher, which are beyond the affordability of most consumers; on the other hand, the safety and reliability of flying cars need to be verified, and consumers' trust and recognition need to be enhanced. Cultivate and expand potential user groups through a variety of ways and channels.

Third, from the perspective of rules, flying cars are still lack of corresponding regulatory standards. As a new means of transportation, flying vehicle involves both air and ground fields, and needs to comply with the laws and regulations of aviation and automobile at the same time. However, at present, there are no unified standards and norms for the definition, classification, airworthiness, driving, operation, insurance and other aspects of flying vehicles. The regulatory attitude and policy support for flying vehicles are also different in different countries and regions.
